With EMC owning an 86% per share of VMWare, with VMWare's present valuation that would mean EMC's core business is currently being valued at a little over $5 a share, which as previous poster mentioned they intend to cut VMWare loose in the future which should improve the valuation of the core business. At this price EMC is well worth picking up
