I dont think there's ever been a better time to buy the master of storage. Recession or no recession, we are not in the beginning stages of a tech boom where companies bought storage because it offered them POTENTIAL growth. We are now in a situation where companies DEPEND on storage capacity to stay alive. The cutting of costs for major companies during the past several years has put off technology spending (including storage) for too long. The viability of many companies (especially financial, pharma, energy, aerospace, and any other major tech realm) remains integrally connected to its information storage capacity.
Acquisitions you say? One thing about storage that is interesting is--well storage. That is, physical storage. So lets say you have two companies. A Bear Sterns and a JP morgan for instance, and they have to ultimately combine resources. In the end, it will be more economical for them to get a single (I realize this is a simplified version of reality but let it work) server that takes up half the space as the other two servers took up combined, but offers 5 times the amount of information space. What recession?
