This company and sector are going to see the networking/computing market skyrocket in the next 5-10 years. The emerging markets group are going to move from industrial to commercial far faster than other countries have transitioned in the past. This shift in industry style will bring companies like EMC and CSCO huge revenue growths.

It's undervalued. Despite four quarters of double-digit sales increases and meeting or beating earnings expectations, the stock still sells at a 47% discount to the industry average price-to-earnings ratio, according to Morningstar.

Demand for its products is steadily increasing . The information age is simply not possible without reliable data storage and retrieval. Accordingly, capital expenditures on storage are expected to outpace almost all other IT spending for the next five years. As the hands-down leader in the space, EMC should benefit most from this boom.

Margins are increasing . A few years ago, management wisely diversified away from strictly being a hardware provider into software and services (both higher margin segments). The move quickly enhanced the company's margins. And as this transition continues we can expect more of the same.

Cash is King . EMC's balance sheet is solid, with $5.9 billion in cash. The company also spins off $1 billion in free cash flow. And we can expect the latter to be put to good use, buying back shares, which in turn will support a higher stock price.

Does anyone know why it is continuing to drop? I didn't see/hear anything major in the news...

Poor management, excessive executive pay and stock options, horrible performance for shareholders. I wish I had never purchased these shares; my P&G and JNJ have outperformed this stock 15% in the same time period AND gave me a dividend.
Tucci has broken VMW (note the wholesale departures in the VMW exec and rank-and-file) which will now follow EMC value into the toilet.
