I really like EMR over the long term. However, with a recession all but here investment will decline and EMR will feel the pinch. look for a better entry point at the very least wait until after teh summer

EMR is an outstanding buy at current prices ($44.62). Based on the consensus earnings estimate for fiscal 2009, which starts 10/1/08, this is a 13.1 P/E stock--shockingly low..

Process Control industry typically lags the rest of the economy both in the decline and the boom. This market still has too many players, right now all the boats are floating, but as the market slows I would anticipate mergers and aquisitions of smaller players. If EMR plays its cards right it could break through.
