The per passenger cost of operating these small jets is much more efficent for airlines and they are the ideal size for point to point direct flights among smaller US cities - one of the few growing markets for airlines.

Having operational problems currently. They have so many orders that they can't manage the line. Good and bad. ERJ has a lovely niche and the added benefit of Brazilian momentum behind them. Great upside potential.

I like stocks that fly below the radar. With all of the attention paid to Airbus and Boeing, Embraer tends to not get much play, but its a solid company that is growing. Also a diversification play, as it is based in Brazil.

In about two years, oil has increased from $20 to $70+ a barrel. This cost to airlines and their gradual replacement of aging jet fleets should make Embraer jets a very attractive choice.

Brazilian jet maker: one of the few in the "small jet" niche that's consistently profitable. We've had great luck with this company historically, but will have to wait to see how the Eclipse (and other "personal jets") plays out.
