On a technical level, there is almost no downside at these prices ($8.85), support goes back years.

On a fundamental level, there is everything to love. They have a patented string ribbon technology which allows for cheaper production of PV cells for solar panels. High costs are the biggest deterent keeping people out of the solar market. Over the past several years, Evergreen has been perfecting their technology and not ampped up their production line. They have only been producing 15MW at their one manufacturing plant. This summer, they are opening a new plant to increase their production to 80MW. Sometime in 2009, they will be opening another plant to increase their production capacity to 160MW. They have contracts lined up out the door and around the corner with nearly 3 Billion in backlog through 2013 with a market cap of 1.5 Billion. This shows that customers are seeking the lower cost method of PV cell production. They trade with a forward pe (dec. 09) of about 15 compared to the typical solar company's forward pe of 25 and FSLR forward pe of 40.

Buyers should be all over this stock once they make they become profitable in early 2009. One year target $18. Strong Buy Rating.

Just so you know, the green movement is just starting. I live in the bay area, and usually things happen here before the rest of america. Green is spreading like wildfire. I'm not saying that solar is the solution to our environmental problems, but I just know that the green hippies are here to stay. I'd say green will be the next "bubble". But right now we are just starting. Solar companies have surprised me with tremendous growth, but their shares have move sideways. ESLR is my fav. of all solar by far.

I have 5000 shares and expect this stock to go over 100 in the next 10 years. I also have 2000 shares in SOL, I believe this stock is way under its true value of around 100 bucks, they have what all solar companies want the thin wafers. Thats all I am willing to say I have been following all the solar stocks and believe these will shoot above all the rest in time.

Right now is an excellent time to get into solar. Nearly all solar companies are on sale because of the commodity pullback. Really their success is not that closely tied in with commodities though.
