By getting rid of the over priced Jaguar name brand, ford is now poised to make a dent in the auto market with the addition of sync and the new line of cars. I can see Ford (F) going to $15 ps by years end.

Welll lets see, bad news today and they are on the uptick. The only fool in April will be the people who don't take a serious look at Ford as they are changing their entire product line to compete with the foriegn markets. I personally think this is a great move and can see the stock moving up. All I really want is anything over 40-50% of the price I paid and I see no problem getting it by years end. Revisit this post around August when the new models hit the streets. From Ford: Ford’s Commitment to Small CarsThe small car market is expected to grow 5 percent annually through 2008, accounting for one-third of all new-car sales. The evolution of the automotive marketplace, the influx of younger buyers and the instability of gas prices have led to the rebirth of the small car market. The new Focus is the first in a line of products that will demonstrate Ford’s renewed commitment to the market.“The small car segment is not only growing, but it is changing,” says Cisco Codina, Ford group vice president. “Focus is coming to market with more content, more standard features and strong fuel economy, while remaining competitively priced. With its bold stance and improved driving characteristics, the new Focus will be a solid competitor in this segment.”

I've been in and out of Ford a couple of times, over-all record = 1-1. With the economy the way it is, a lot of people can't afford that new house, they have been saving and want to fill good about thier position in life. What better way than a new ride! The management at Ford instituded a new buissinss plan about 2 years ago. We all saw some of the results with early pension buy-outs, plant closings, the sale of Vistion, and as you mentioned, Jaguar. This company is trying to stop competing with its self. Ford is in the process of reducing the over-all number of vehicles in thier line that compete directly with each other. Hay it's working for Nissan, and Toyota.

Yes, agree there new line up is getting better by the day if you look online for there linup of coming cars/trucks for 09 and the options there are great. the Edge is a great mid-sized SUV that most people that still want that kind of car get get and save money at the pump it has all the styling's and more that anyone would want. (I am not a car salesmen, I just like Ford)so I agree buy now and watch the wheel turn on this one as it grows.
