Lord Mr. Ford! Well, although I do expect this stock to be worth more in 5 years, I won't own it at that point. As soon as I get past my breakeven point, I will sell it. It is in a declining industry that does not do well with change and lacks inovation in a major way. Also, I am a big DRIP investor and Ford has been DECREASING their dividend for several years now. When I first invested I was not saavy enough to notice that...

I think as you saw GM wake up call, Ford also would have to start and find new ways to create intrest.
also not to forget that when oil price goes back down, the car and aeroplane industries should probably climb up.
i think the company has a good strong brand and they just need a
small shake and stir. the BIG ? is what will the management do
in the next few weeks to come. (dividend will come back with the rise in profit. until then i dont expect any)

Bail out now.. Ford has had a nice recovery in stock price over the last few months ($6 to $9) Selling at a bit of a loss isn't bad when you can re-allocate your holdings in better positions rather than gambling against Ford. Save yourself the future shame of holding on too long.

This F stock really bothers me---and I agree with you! Ford, GM, Chrysler---all American institutions are fading away. Toyota is really now the king. I do believe that Ford can survive, but our Union workers must make heavy concessions. Not easy to do but can be done. Americans are just now starting to get smart and realize that automobiles are for TRANSPORTATION! Our love affair with auto's must end and we need to embrace newer technology even if we can't go 0-60 in 4 seconds. America STILL has a chance but most Americans are spoiled and have a lot of growing up to do. We need to buy American--invest in American products and NEVER forget what American freedom is all about. If Ford can get up to $10.00, I think it will keep going.

I think that Ford and GM should bring back on intagibles and old-school American culture that cannot be readily replicated.

I think they should bring back old-styled car designs from the 1960s and 1970s. It's the one heritage and history that GM and Ford that cannot be copied.
