FedEx is beautifully positioned to benefit from global prosperity. Global prosperity is one of my favorite trends. Overnight shipping of documents, gifts, e-commerce, b-to-b commerce, etc. is a macrotrend. The price of gas if it continues high will further benefit FedEx, as all of us will tend to shop from home and let trucks laden with large numbers of packages -- running off just one gas tank -- do the transportation part. China is awakening. India is coming online strong. FedEx is the cream of the crop of its industry, and its founder Fred Smith is one of my favorite business leaders. This long-term Stock Advisor recommendation of mine has about tripled up on the market's return. At a $32 billion market cap, FDX shareholders can't expect another 10-bagger anytime soon. However, steady and strong outperformance of the market averages is something I'm willing to (continue to) bet on. Outperform.

Take a look at the spread between FDX and UPS. When Ups earnings dropped spread was 27. Now is 35.If you sell Fdx on spikes up and Ups Holds support at 72, I believe you can pull 12 bucks out of that as a trade where the 1 yr upside on FDX is 118-120. At the highs Fdx always runs then backs off, 40 bucks was the outside at the high. Just a different perspective. FRed Smith gets paid more than both of us.
