The stock you buy for a newborn and don't sell until he leaves for college. FDX will consistently do a little bit better than the market as a whole during all that time. As close to a one-decision stock as there is.

My 2-year-old has fifteen years until college, and the world supply of oil is going to do nothing but decline between now and then. I won't bet his college savings on a company dedicated to a fossil-fuel reliant system of delivering packages, because I think we are going to see a lot more localization over the next 10-40 years. I really like FedEx as a company- I always have, but I have doubts about their sustainiability. I've been betting against them (and let's not mince words- these are bets) since October '06, and my FedEx score is a positive 18.76 as of today. Maybe I'll be wrong tommorrow?
