Think berkshire hathaway, circa 1978. Simply the cheapest, best of breed insurer/holding company/hedge fund out there. Unless we experience a bevy of natural disasters in the coming years, this company should continue to do very well.

Bought Fairfax based on a profile of their Chairman being described as the Buffet of Canada. Bought at time when Farifaxe's business was rocky. It has proven to be a good investment.

Prem Watsa and his team are smart people. They effectively bet against the credit markets in this country and this will continue to add to the company's equity this year. This will hopefully be realized in the share price soon.
