This stock is a regional bank. I believe they have been knocked down by the sector, but have a sound management team. Once the credit crunch shakes out - banks that are sound will again attract investors looking for stable investment and dividends.

What makes you say they have a sound management team? This team has primarily been in place for 3-5 years and during that time the stock has done nothing but lose over 70% of its value. The next move will be to cut the dividend because they can't afford it and that will hurt investors even more and drive their price down.

Yeah, and now they are getting stingy on the interest there willing to pay, so i'll be withdrawing my vast sums that i allowed them to hold for me.

No longer will i be giving these fools a free lunch.

Good luck FITB...

WHats worse is when I tried sitting down and telling them that I wasnt happy all they could do was shrug their shoulders and say they are powerless to do anything.

There retort to me when I told them i could make close to 50-100 percent more interest elsewhere, was that they were a good bank and that those other banks offering a greater savings rates were not and thats why they are offering more interest, I just laughed, as institutions are fdic insured up to 100 k and i've had foolishly at one time over 200k with them. And I told them how i felt that they had no reasonably compensated me for my potential loss and that i didnt appreciate them lowering my rates, yet these bankers are completely powerless and inept, typical of most banks. So dont be surprised when i short these guys with that money i'm transferring out.

Who says they are going to cut their divididend? I would agree that could be an option, but not so much with this bank. They are making money. They have a record of increasing dividends over a period of years. I don't see a cut in dividends with the current situation as it is.
