The regional banks are the canary in the coal mine, when it comes to judging the housing recovery. There are still too many investors who assume that the housing crash and the banking problems will correct in the near-term because the stock market has recovered so well from the March 2009 lows. Although QE may help raise prices in US dollar terms, the relative weakness of these sectors will remain, when compared to S&P 500 index.
