Just check it's history. I pays out exceptionally well and is in the shipping business. This is a stock that I see as close to solid as most can get. I have had it for 2 years and it is an out standing performer. No mater what happens in the world we will always have to ship items around the world.

I completely agree. Some will argue that they're part of some 'oil-conspiracy' because of their long term contracts to ship oil. Fact is that they'll be shipping oil regardless of the price of oil or the value of the dollar. I've been in for seven months and have the huge dividends reinvested . . . and my adjusted cost basis keeps dropping. Absolutely love this stock.

I bought this stock for the long haul (20 years). The dividend, alone, exceeds my target of 12% return per year. The growth is gravey! I am anticipating a special dividend from the $25 million they recieved from a contract pay off. I hope it comes through. I am also interested to see if there will be a merger between FRO and OSG. What are your thoughts?

Hopefully we'll sell before that becomes an issue. FRO has been expert at selling old ships and buying new companies, though. It loves its shareholders and shows us the love in the form of HUGE divs and spinoffs annually. You have to keep loving them back until the story changes.

FRO is as good at the M & A game as it is at the shipping game. I think what it is best at, however, is the rewarding the shareholder game. I am happy to be one with the interests of management: pay the shareholder. I think that will continue for as long as the company is under-appreciated. I'm thankful for being early at the banquet table, as are my close friends with whom I shared my research. I'm sure that you are as well. Stay the game, Janetkynard.

My dividend yield has been 25% or better for a few years. The only mistake I made with this stock is selling call options on it (with admittedly handsome premiums) and losing it to my option buyers along with a juicy dividend (damned American Options!). I then bought some more of the stock and I keep it in my non-options account.

Markets are dynamic. Pick your buy point and see what happens. Don't be greedy, though. This stock is worth buying with a little bit of a risk premium. I love FRO. I think it's the best stock I've ever owned.

I have owned it for 3 years now. Made decent money on it and have sold it 3 times. Every time it grew by 50%. Never repurchased though. Whatever I am left with is already more than a double. Inspite of having made money on it, I call it a dangerous stock. Keep only a small portion in your portfolio for fun alone. Debt to Equity is very very high and so is dividend payout.Sooner or later greed lead to ditches. The only reason I keep it in my portfolio is that I have alread recouped my capital in hard cash.
