Bernanke said that the FED will cut as needed to sustain U.S. growth, Canada's central bank lowered it rates in order to stop possible spreading of the credit tightening in Canada. But the Canadian base/prime rates are higher that U.S's and the projections are that the rate will not stay that low long in Canada, which will widen the usd/can currency spread.
