GE is well positioned to advantage of government spending around the world on large scale infrastructure projects (desalination, nukes, and refrigerators big enough to hold the amount of beer required by construction teams).
Very sound reasoning it seems to me.
Is anyone thinking about SELLING GE? Since I bought the co., the stock has gone down from $20-25 to $11.50. They have received a "bailout" from the gov't., have Pres. Obama in their hip pocket, and...how's GE Capital doing? Have they decided to dump that part yet? I think that might be where the bailout went. Does anyone have some good facts and good advice for me?
Bottom line is the GE has always been in the fore front of many sides of technology..they stumbled since Jack Welsh but hopefully with the current state of the global markets will cut the necessary fat...I have been a believer and have been purchasing stock from $34.00 and continuely purchase at regular intervals per month. I will either be seen as a genius or as a total bust. Now is the time to make the investment and know beforehand that this will be for the long haul. GE never was a get rich quick stock, but over the long run I think it will be more than profitable. At it's current stock price this is a bargain...
I was just reading an article about how well GE Capital is fairing under the US conversion to Communism under Comrade Obama. That and the fact that GE stands to do VERY well if the "global warming" (aka tax everyone and everything to death) cap and trade bill passes - due to their "carbon credit" division that they have in place and ready to go if this crackhead, economy crushing bill passes the senate.
Listen, the country is going to hell, and the government is poised to tax every viable corporation and person with a job to death, but liberal, enviromentalists stand to make a fortune - a la Al Gore - stop fighting it and get on board (with your money) at least this way you can afford a plane ticket to Fiji when the US implodes.
I honestly think their finance division will be ok and when a companys weakest point is profitable there is a lot to like. (Target Price 20-25 Dollars)
