About 70% of you despise GM which makes it a buy for me. Herd mentality.GM has so many things happening in it's favor. A Buy USA feeling, better cars, having Ford implode, DCX being hacked up, controlling costs. Further when idiot Bush leaves office the ROW won't despise us as much ( hopefully ) if we stop starting wars weekly. Hey.. they had less sales than 2 years ago and cut a 2.00 something loss to a .11 gain.Cerberus is going to set the tone for union changes and pay packages. Ford lacks the red blood cells to save it's pathetic self since Bill spent too many years there playing hockey.GM will remain. It's a brand that the rest of the world is buying as it becomes more prosperous.

Hey dude. I like GM too. I didn't like it a while ago too, but now GM is ripe for getting picked up and make some serious kick ass profits on it.We are talking about a company with an Enterprise Value of 42.41B for a company with yearly revenues of almost 200B, and an EBITDA of 19.29B. Ok.... the company has nearly no profits, but it's not too far from having them too, only 2B losses on the trailing 12 months, come on, it's not too bad, is it ?Meanwhile, insiders have been accumulating some good amount of shares via options, and a few cool value investors, like Charles Brandes, David Dreman, Mason Hawkins (4% of his total portfolio) and Bill Miller have been picking up shares. I trust they did their homework. Isnt it great to have the power to track those big trusty players and have their resources working for us Fool fellows ? Yeah! :))))Check here http://www.gurufocus.com/StockBuy.php?symbol=GMGurufocus is like, the second best site in the world, right after Fool.com. And I learned about it on one of the Fool newsletters. Thanx Fool.com again.I personally am a bit scared of companies that make no profits, but probably I'm just being silly. Anyway, if it keeps underperforming for a while I might really buy some cool GM shares.

The deal with GM is that it is highly leveraged, which gives it a large rev/share. With GM profit margin is everything. A 1% change is 2B in earnings. So the results are all about margin, but there are a ton of fuzzy factors to deal with. If their cars get better as they reduce costs, which I believe they are on track to do, their margin gets better. But healthcare costs (rising much faster than inflation), economic volatility (which can drive market volume), and poor execution can drive the margins the wrong way -- which seems to be what the consensus is.
