shorting GOOG. why not short the entire Web 2.0 stocks, or even YHOO, AMZN & EBAY?! this'll snuff out all internet stocks. (so the economy is supposedly slowing...)

weil00: It's not really shorting it, it's rating it underperform. It can still be positive over a given time frame, as long as it underperforms the S&P500 the underperforms wins.

yes, yes, yes, no need to patronize a fellow American. I am just saying if you are going to short this stock you might as well short everything. Yes, Yes, Yes, we can compare to OEX, AMEX, Dow Transport, Dow Utilities, Wilshire, Amex, Russel, and what have you besides the SPX.

Just to let you know, we are in the same boat. (if) you short, and because you short, and I short, and so on and so forth, who is going to buy the stock back, the Russians? the Chinese?

Or are you a professional hedgie here looking for some action? (remember, we might have a small recession coming up, so start shorting...)
