Government Properties (GOV) gathers deposits from the general public within its market area and invests those deposits primarily in loans, debt obligations issued by the U.S. Government and its agencies, and mortgaged-backed securities. The Company was formed to invest in properties that are leased to government tenants. The Company is a subsidiary of HRPT Properties Trust (HRPT). The few analysts that follow it seem not to like it.
At the current price of about 26, the p/e is about 25, and the dividend is over 6¼%. Dvidends are paid on a quarterly basis. The 52 week price range is 21.31--28.53.
