I've been long Great Panther for 5+ years, and have dollar-cost-averaged consistently during its extended stay at ridiculous valuations. Despite its small size, this is my third-largest equity position, and I have every expectation that this will be a ten-bagger from the recent low beneath $0.70 if the company can manage to stave off eager suitors.

We know that Endeavour Silver CEO Bradford Cooke has as much admiration for Great Panther's management as I do, and we can surmise that it was one of the companies on Endeavour's short list during its 2-year process of studying potential acquisitions.

Fools will find a number of posts about this company on my blog from over the years ... generally posted excitedly about the incredible ore grades encountered over and over again during their exploration efforts. Search for "TMFSinchiruna" and "Panther" in the TMF search field to review some of those posts.

Here's my most recent post, which prompted TMFCHarris to add GPRLF as a rateable stock (thanks Chris!).

I can't get over how lucky you all are. I did my homework years ago and established my stake in 2005, and now you Fools get to swoop in and pick up shares at a cozy discount to my cost basis. That's exactly how it went down with Silver Wheaton as well! I guess the early bird doesn't always get the worm. Fool on!

I did the same thing with Taseko (TGB): first bought in June 2008 at $4.51, bought at low point in October 2008 at $0.87 (while staring at an 80% loss), and been buying regularly since then. Initial position is now above water but have big gains in all others. Sometimes you just have to believe you're right.

Argh! Kicking myself for not getting into this when you first pitched it. I was kind of hoping for a correction and buying in at a cheaper price.

Thanks Sinchiruna I am now up over 100% on this one which I bought after reading one of your posts! I like future prospects for GPRLF. and plan to hold until it look like silver has peaked. Since my guess is as good as anyone else I'm guessing around $50/oz.

I'm going back to the expert here, yesterday the stock hit my 2.02 price target at the open and I got closed out of my position (I put the order in the last time the stock got over $2 and then had a subsequent correction). I am not too disappointed because I still got a 100%+ return in only a couple months but the stock has continued to fly. I am still long term bullish on silver, as you are, but was wondering what your thoughts are on this stock near term (i usually loathe near term outlooks/market timing but I am asking regardless). I want to get back in the stock at some point and want to find a better entry point. would love to hear your thoughts. thanks again sinch

Yeah - but GPR sure got a bump up this week - it is about 2.48! (Sinchi called it at a ten-bagger - may do better than that). --- (10 bagger from when it was a penny stock).

We can all thank the money printing coming from the fed for our precious metals and mining stocks continuing to shine. This type of stock along with Silver Wheaton and the gold and silver ETFs are investments I make reluctantly...hoping inflation is not going to surface here or in Europe or China. However, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck....then IT IS A DUCK. Inflation IS a very real fact of life and as long as our foolish monetary policy continues with QE2 and QE3 , etc, etc, it would be very prudent for every investor to hold at least a portion of his portfolio in these commodity investments. Continued crazy spending and debt accumulation by this administration will cause inflation to be exported all over the world. When the Fed and this administration and congress wake up to this, we can begin to unload our gold and silver investments. Until then, the prudent will hang on to them as an insurance policy.

Was wondering if you think it would be a good time to open a position around the $3.80's area, or try to wait it out for a pull back. I don't know much about PM's..just now getting into that area. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated.

Hi TMFSinchiruna,

First: thanks so much for sharing your research and analysis on all these precious metals stocks. It's generous of you and I'm glad for the opportunity to learn about some companies I definitely would have overlooked.

Second: I'd be curious to know your thoughts on GPL at the moment. I'm coming to this party really late and wondering what sort of price per ounce of silver do you think is worked into the $2/share price? What sort of room for growth do you believe they have as long as the silver price stays south of $40
