As of close of business on 12/04/2007, this was a 1-star Morningstar stock that was trading at more than double it's Morningstar fair value.
If you listen to morningstar, you will be doomed. It rated WaMu and ShityGroup (Sorry Citigroup) at levels much higher than where they trade today. And have you heard of Doral Financial? What about GOOGLE, what does morning* think Google is worth?MorningStar's valuation techniques are deeply flawed. DCF model is great, but I doubt if everyone who uses the model really understand the definition of "C" in the DCF. I think that can make or break an investment. Don't listen to Morningstar, I listed to them for atleast 2 years, they are not totally crap, but their Fair Value Estimate is really not worth looking at.
Huddaman -- it's not that I'm listening to Morningstar, but that I'm using them for the basis of this profile. It doesn't matter if I agree with the picks... it's simply an exploratory project to see how accurate M* is with a combination of their views and my discretionary timing. I think it seems to be going well so far... BTW -- M* thinks Google's fair value is $550.00, and the "C" in DCF stands for cash, which is deeper than just a word.the boy
Judging by your -237 rating I now know not to buy Morningstar. Thanks!
