I used to have this co as outperform but based on my personal experience honda is on the down slope of the success curve.

The transmission in my 3rd honda (minivan) started to slip. I was quoted $3700 to repair and no warranty. I bought the Honda in Canada and I now live in the US. A manager at American Honda told me they are not the same company and a Canadian Honda is much different from the American model. (the idiot does not know they are made on the same assembly line) She then said, "asking American Honda to honor the warranty on a Canadian Honda is like buying a dress at Sears and asking Macys for a refund!"

problem #1 who in the heck buys dresses at Sears (see my Sears Holdings underperform)

problem #2 idiot manager analogy would have been correct if I was asking honda to honor a Dodge warranty

a correct analogy would have been buying something at Sears and returning it at a different Sears location, which all customers expect.

The fact that Honda management would even speak to me in that way shows they don’t value customers, this is my third and last honda. I would rather buy a ... gulp... a GM product before I ever buy another Honda. (okay most likely Toyota or Lexus)

so why is a tranny breaking at 60k miles anyway on a car that has had regular dealer maintanence? Bad service and unreliable means there is absolutely no reason for Honda to exist. (super nice job on the muscle hybrid accord - lol)

Seriously you base your opinion of an entire company on your bad luck... I have personally owned hondas that last 150K miles with no more than regular maintance.

That aside. they have the world market in small engines. they sell more motorbikes than any other company on earth. while they do not command the same market share as toyota. they are definatley gaining ground in the USA. As long as Detroit has it head in the sand I think all forgien manufacturers will florish.

Wow........... Well all businesses end up with some idiots. I haven't seen a vehicle line yet that doesn't have defects in some vehicles. Unfortunate you had to get a lemon but Honda is still one of the tops in quality.

Ask for the Dealer Rep's number they oversee all dealers and let them know how you were treated and how much you had to pay out of pocket and if no satisfaction is given keep record of how and when you talked to and keep going up the ladder if you must until you get the results you want. Then contact the ceo if the company and let them know where there is a problem and they will correct it and It will take work and time on your part but don't give up. Lynda

I have bought, a toyota, a honda, a ford, a ford, and last one a honda. and I like the Toyota a lot but the honda much better, as for the ford one good and one not so good. but i can tell you something if i am to buy a new vehicle it will definitely be a honda, one because it is a lot more fuel efficient than most and two because they last more, they keep their value more and let's admit it they are a lot more better looking than many, i mean on the same range of cars and suvs. Car by car or car to car, it is more car a honda civic than a ford focus, or a honda pilot than a ford explorer, isn't it?

Its sort of inconceivable to me that you base your stock decision on your car problems. Its true quality of the car in general can affect the stock prices but a confined cases like yours (hondas are generally percieved to be excellent cars overall in durability, style, efficiency and etc) are not going to make honda stocks fall. But it seems like you had a really bad experience with the car and dealership, sorry man :-/ just remember, money is not about emotions.
