I've been to, and think I understand something about, China. I bought (and have sold) HMIN because, in contrast to CTRIP (which I've owned since it went public), real estate and building stocks in China are extremely risky in my opinion at the moment. There has been an enormous amount of over-building, and this includes hotels. Motels are really a function of cars on the road, and families taking trips. I think there are better bets.
