The glory days have come and gone. H-D is a solidly run business but the big growth years have passed.

The demographic continues to age at an alarming rate. H-D has announced a line of Harley-Davidson-branded trikes (which are actually Lehmans) that will be sold through their delaerships. What's next - wheelchairs? Show me some Gen-Xr's or Y's that think Harleys are as cool as crotchrockets, and I'll change my 3-yr recommendation. In the meanwhile I'm satisfied to have sold my position - which, incidentally, I bought in the IPO in '86 and held to early in '06 as I felt so strongly about H-Ds potential through those years. I stick by my original statement - the big growth years are behind.
