Kindly ignore this pick. It's just crazy ol' Eldrehad making a Fool (or fool?) of himself by calling outperform on another homebuilder when just about everyone else in the country is saying it's a bad idea.

Have been down on homebuilders since last November, was extremely frustrated when the market did not see it the same way. Now that the market seems to feel the same way it is kind of anti-climatic. Would like to pick a few up, but if you look at most of their projected earnings relative to their historical prices they still have a way to fall.

ELDERHEAD IS RIGHT AGAIN - BUT ALSO WRONG.I used to have a 90 Caps score before I went long Luminent Mortgage.... so I've learned the hard way why we need to avoid battle ground stocks until they are actually compelling. However Elder head is more right than Jim Cramer (who I admire greatly). I listened to the media and Jim Cramer and I thought for sure home builders are all goners... but you know what after looking at some SEC filings and conference calls - I have to recant and say their won't bee too many bankruptcies for the big home builders. They are just too well capitalized so I am wrong they can't be broken by the Fed or Banks... that said I still think it's too early to get in bed with the homebuilders. They certainly won't be the leadership group for the next several months and probably not for the next 3 years. I'd look at them in 6,12,18 months from now... they will not outperform the market coming off these lows...I think Elderhead is right you can make money buying homebuilders TODAY - but I don't think you'll outperform.

ah 6 months.... try 24-36. yeah sure a lot of them wont be bankrupt but do you think thats a good sign?? They wont be experiencing any revenue growth!!! Last time I checked thats the most IMPORTANT thing when buying a stock!! Be smart and put your money where it will grow. There are too many good opportunities out there to mess around in this mess right now.
