WIth a dividend yield of less than 2% versus checking accounts offering 3% with no downside risk, why would anyone want to pay $130 for a stock that returns very little to investors say 50 cents per share with lots of downside risk?. IBMs earnings are ok, BUT what counts is what is IBM putting back into investors pockets. At 50 cent per share dividend, the truth is...not much at all and with the global economy in turmoil and spinning out of control this is one stock to AVOID at $130. Might be worth looking into at $50 per share.

To outoftheworld: Stock investing is about share price appreciation, plus dividends. If you don't understand the value of price appreciation, CAPS may help you get it. Once you get it, you might consider posting your comments.

Why are you so angry?

I do understand price appreciation. The reality is that there is none at $130 per share. When IBM sinks to around $45 per share, that's the time to get in. Comprende?

Just thought everyone should know that IBM Officers have been eagerly dumping their own IBM holdings by the hundreds of millions of dollars since July 2008. Now what started this selling frenzy? Hmmm...they must know something worse is coming...
