With the advent of the newest and brightest star of big data entering the technology district, many companies (including, but not limited to Facebook, Walmart, and Zales) have begun to implement this new tech. The trick is to find the right company early on who will be the pioneer in big data... the question, I think, comes down to either where the average joe's loyalty lies or where it doesn't depending on the direction big data goes (big brother anyone?). IBM has been around a while and has already had a while to implement big data analytics, plus it has a well known name.Though, it's top competitor IMAO is unquestionably EMC. (This company is based in Taiwan- now 99% owned by China; odd that the duel of the fates should be one red corporation against a blue one... eh?)
