Indian banks were never really affected by the financial meltdown. Because of their cash at hand the are better placed for exponential growth going forward. ICICI is very well managed bank. But it is hit hard unnessarily. It will gain its lost ground.

This person submitted nearly identical comments for HDFC and ICICI:

"Indian banks were never really affected by the financial meltdown. Because of their cash at hand the are better placed for exponential growth going forward. ICICI is very well managed bank. But it is hit hard unnessarily. It will gain its lost ground.

"Indian banks were never really affected by the financial meltdown. Because of their cash at hand the are better placed for exponential growth going forward. HDFC Bank is probably one of the best managed banks in India. It is growth will only be on overdrive going foward."

My interpretation is that he or she was trying to plug Indian banks. These might be good banks (and they might not), but I am skeptical whether mytworupees is making honest comments.

Both IBN and HDB are solid banks with very conservative practices, and are both well-managed. I've owned a piece of both since about Aug '09, and have made a pretty good gain. The prospects are good, with their customers being a huge population with gradually increasing wealth. Should be a good clean 10-15 year run, but hey, I've been wrong a few times before.
