totally stumped, this stock keeps sputtering. Is it just flying below the radar? shouldn't be, at least not after being featured in Barron's. are their earnings gonna decline? This cheap price doesn't makes sense to me, which usually means there is something going on that I/we don't know about. Any ideas?

Do not feel duped. This is EMT(Efficient Market Theory) at its best. IMOS didn't have an exceptionally strong Q2. The market already associates a high level of uncertainty for nearly all Taiwanese companies(due to China - look at Taiwanese valuations). Compound that with the high levels of fear & uncertainty in the market occurring domestically and it has all completely overshadowed the solid earnings & guidance posted just 3 days ago.If you're a believer that we're not going into the great depression and that this isn't even in the top 5 of worst market corrections of the past 20 years than this is likely a solid entry point @ ~$5.15 to buy & hold for at least the next 9 months because personally... I think this is a great company but I'm betting that we won't see any huge run up in this stock for a while.Just another market anomaly...

Yeah I thought I was quite near the bottom close to $5. This $4.50 stuff makes me wonder if we could head to $4. (At which point I'd buy more...) I'd be surprised if they couldn't sell the company for 80% of book value. But we knocked on 70%. It's also trading at 46% of (Book value Cash flow), a measure I prefer to straight BV. That's almost as bad as Countrywide (CFC) at 37%. At these prices the market expects both of these companies to pretty much die. If they don't, they should have decent returns.Disclosure: I have a position in IMOS. No position in CFC.

Hmm, that is supposed to be "(Book value plus cash flow)"

But the bad part in my comparison is that CFC has short interest over 20%...while IMOS has ~1%. So real people are in fact selling IMOS, FWIW (maybe not much). Ok I'm done.
