The buying up the forum communities, well this reminds me of the early 1990's and all those BBS hobbyist sites. Many of the latter tried to become Internet providers and failed. INETS business model is better left for hobbyists.

You've only to visit their homepage to know that this company is far more than just forum communities. It's 34M eyeballs, every month, consistently delivered to advertisers.INETs business model is projected to earn over 100M this year. Hobbyist? The company is without debt - has only upside on the horizon - and has a solid management team that, while being pragmatic, are very aware that cornering markets is a good thing. One other thing to note - the purchase of bbs giant vBulletin was a good thing - I'd be interested in learning the projected profit turn on that purchase - but the ongoing advertising from CarsDirect.com and other lead properties is doing a great job buoying them.Sorry to thump here - but you post just seems callous and ill-informed.Perhaps you are a hobbyist trader?

How can you compare BBS sites that had no revenue to websites that generate 400K in revenue with a minimum of 75% profit margins?? User generated content is king. Some other sites that rely almost solely on user generated content, uh Ebay and Google come to mind, hardly call them hobbyists.
