I've looked at this company a couple of times and always get a bad feeling. I've never shorted any business before, but you gotta start somewhere. I'll start with ISIS because:their technology is antiquatedthey are basically a one-trick ponyI don't think their pipeline is very impressive.I get a very icky feeling from management.Maybe they will do well, but I think the recent hype of their cholesterol drug is fog. I think this company is on its way down and out.

Yes their RNase-H activating antisense is utter crap but their Ibis division is promising, potentially worth current share price.

I think if people can research the difference between antisense technology and RNAi you'll see that antisense just isn't as good. Not to mention the possibility of toxicity effects...siRna may have toxic effects as well but at least there are products out on the market. there is a reason that Mello and Co. won the nobel prize and Stan Crooke at Isis didn't. The company has always been bleeding and other than Vitravene, they haven't produced anything. For a biotech company to be around this long with nothing to show...i don't know. The TIGER biosensor actually is promising however. To be able to use it to QC drugs in pipelines, reagents, vaccines, QC food etc...the only competition I see is pyrosequencing or micro array but micro array has its own issues and pyrosequencing is still limited in teh number of base pairs it can handle and is pricey. If I were to buy Isis, it would be for the ibis portion...something may come out of antisense but after 15 years I think they would have done it by now.

I guess you were wrong. I bought at 10.00 and it is one of my best scoring stocks on my CAPS page. What do you think now? Congratulations on your player rating, which is about double my own.

They must have listened! Regulus is an attempt at getting into the microRNA field...Alnylam huh? Could start to get interesting! Had they continued on with straight antisense..it would have been RIP Isis...
