One division of ITW is ElectroStatic Technologies. It manufactures a growing product, called "Aegis arc rings". These rings, when mounted onto electric motor shafts, diffuse static electricity, thus greatly extending the life of electric motors. These applications, as well as hundreds of others, will provide increasing revenue for ITW over many years. This technology is in its infancy, and its simplicity will greatly be accepted by all industrial markets.
