The CEO of KB home came out today and said that he did not see the housing market bottom until the end of 2008 and didn't see prices rising until well into 2009. This isn't good for KBH and this isn't good for any of the homebuilders.

no way this sector out performs the market, an argument could be made for shorting almost the entire sector. Cramer advises buying puts on about every mortgage and housing play out there. But at the very least will underperofm the market.

I think the housing downturn will last longer than expected and homebuilders will continue to suffer. These levels might be the time for a bargain hunter to buy for the long term, but for now, I'm a bear on all homebuilders.

The bottom's a long way off for this one. There's a major Lennar project just one block away from me, and they're very busy putting in 1600 homes. I don't doubt they'll sell them, eventually, but this market will be punishing them for at least a few ...

Homebuilders bottomed out a few months back, LEN is in a great position (cash rich) to position themselves for a turn in the housing market.
