L-3 Communications is the 8th largest defense contractor in the world measured by 2007 defense related revenue. 81% of the total revenue in 2007 was related to defense.Capital expenditure is large, debt levels are not low and return on equity is not extremly high, but LLL has grown shareholder equity at a steady pace in the past and will continue to do so in the future. That is no guarantee that can be given for the 499 other S&P500 companies.
Watch them diversify this year within the USDOD in other venues. They will be stronger and create another niche within the Defense contractor market.
In real life we would never invest in L-3 Communications Holdings, as the company is a manufacturer of cluster bombs.

Is it offical that L11lever has lost a big homeland security contract to ds2 (lockheed) ? I think it is Dec. 1,09 . Well you have to think that L what ever has no backbone. Just a geedy bunch of officers and ceo . Thier are more contracts out thier but they are out of favor .
