DIYs are tied to consumer spending, not homebuilding. Personally, home repair projects are a core spend for me -- akin to the other "non-cyclicals". Assuming 15x $2.20 over the next year or $33.00. 18% gain should exceed the broader market.

I just think the price of this stock has gone lower than it deserves. Certainly the housing sector beat-down has taken its toll on Lowes, but the company has a track record of 20% growth yoy, and the stock is currently trading at a P/E of under 15. T...

In my risk-seeking days (ie, pre-subprime blowup) I picked a bunch of homebuilders, and it looks like I lost. Lowe's is much better positioned for when the housing market rebounds than any of the builders. It has been able to gain market share on H...

Lowe's has improved their customer service and experience over the past 6 months while Home Depot has dropped. A year ago I would have picked Home Depot over Lowes. I obviously spend a great deal of time in both.

The latest existing home sales report from the National Association of Realtors showed an increase of 3.1% over the previous month with sales rising to about 5 million units a year annualized. When the last twelve months of data is plotted, there’s ...

Lowe's has consistently outperformed Home Depot. Although Lowe's does not have the huge advertising budget and the gimmicky workshops, it does have something that Home Depot lost a few years ago. That is room to grow. Also, they have a pretty smar...

Good time to jump in. I did not consider the quarter to be as bad as most people did. Continued growth. My personal best long term perfomer.

The only reason people go to Home Depot is because there is more Home Depot locations to choose from... ask remodelers and home owners who they prefer to shop at and it is Lowes! Lowes has better quality and more selection... and more growth.

A very financially sound company at a good price. Compared to HD, the stores are nicer, the prices are comparable, the sales staff is friendlier and the poeple running the company are not trying to alienate everyone they can. I am in the "people are ...
