If you’re looking to find a way to turn the world’s growing appetite for energy into gains in your portfolio, Lufkin Industries is, in my view, a clear candidate for serious consideration. How often does one find a company with a history of strong sales growth, margin expansion, and a near pristine balance sheet, operating in an industry that is in the midst of ever-increasing worldwide demand, and sports a trailing P/E ratio of 12.1 and a trailing PEG ratio of only 0.65? Not terribly often, I think.
