+ Watch LVS
on My Watchlist
Las Vegas Sands owns the Venetian and the Palazzo casinos on the Strip, along with the Sands Expo convention center in Vegas and Sands Macao.
If the china bubble burst--look out for gaming revenue. The price just doesn't add up on any metric I use. When will this stock pay you a dividend on your money.I went short today at 19.80
you think shorting was a good idea?
Profit expected to increase 286% this year.
Las Vegas Sands is estimated to have 38% growth this upcoming quarter. Also, they are taking over the entertainment and gambling scene. How can you not expect them to outperform.
China just grew gdp at 11%. They had a trade deficit due to import of materials for infrastructure and construction. The deficit will likely encourage China to allow its currency to appreciate. This will translate into higher revenues for the Casinos after currency translation. I agree that the metrics are stretched but the prospects are still compelling although you can forget about dividends for now. If you are shorting LVS on the basis of China blowing up I think you are taking a big risk.
Have you met anyone from asia? Dont think that is possible they love gambling hahaha
Gambling is in our blood. Anyone who wants to long/short LVS should take a trip to Macau or Singapore to check out the properties FIRST and see for themselves. The gambling tables at Macau, FYI, is standing room only almost 24/7. It is THAT packed. Don't take my word for it - just get on a plane and go.
God, I hope you covered that short. In 6 months since you posted, the stock has almost doubled.
LOL, bad move shorting this gambling monster...Asian love gambling and China's bubble will not burst anytime soon, I've been following LVS since $16 dollar range and its made me a killing, very happy and confident for the time being in this investment
Hope you covered.... though I must say, I had people tell me that I was crazy to buy a gambling company in March 2009 , at the zenith of pessimism and doom n' gloom
and as for "when will the stock pay a dividend"gee, dunno...I guess when those crummy, good for nothing companies like Apple, Berkshire and Google start paying one
I picked this on to be a loser, stupid on my part...just one of the many lessons I have learned by using CAPS and not real money.
