MDT is the 800 lb gorilla of the medical device business. It looks like they have been involved in some very disreputable business practices in their spinal business; these problems are not going to go away soon. In cardiac rhythm management, they have no where to go but down. It appears that Boston Scientific may finally be starting a major comeback in the CRM business.

My cell phone doesn't have any spinal surgeons listed as a contact. Just in case there are others out there in the same boat, might there be some details about this "disreputable business practice."?

Why be so coy? Just use Google News and search for "spinal cage implant". It doesn't take a brain surgeon (or any other kind of surgeon) to find out stuff like this.

nerd51,
To bring you up to speed, the DOJ announced last week that they are closing their 3+ year investigation into the company for these alleged business practices. No indictments, no charges, no settlement. Given how painful a zero return on investment for a 3+ year investigation is, I'm guessing they found nothing strong enough to even drive a small settlement. It would appear that, once again, wild accusations by competitors and so-called "watchdogs" have been proven unfounded.
