Merrill is in a major downtrend due to the CDO disaster. This too will pass and the advisory, wealth management business will continue to grow and thrive.

Thain will take charge of costs and begin to turn around Merrill in the next few months. The market and Merrill has a long history of these types of troughs and investors with the guts have always been rewarded.
