This is a one-star stock right now. Everybody hates it, so the price is very low. Too low, I say. The risk is priced in, and then some. I bet Meruelo will come through just fine, as it's not fatally leveraged; even with property prices down, it has enough equity to survive. It will thrive in a year or two. I'm even tempted to buy some MMPI stock in real life.
