An outstanding CEO with a dominate position in an industry with great demand. While there is an argument that the price of MORN shares are not a bargain at current levels, I believe that sometimes you must pay up for great assets. Morningstar has these great assets in their databases and reach in the investment community. If Morningstar can execute on their strategy of integrating their products and services into all realms of the investment world, I see them becoming a much larger company in the future. If they avoid damaging their reputation in any way, and continue to move into areas such as asset management and international markets I see no reason that they cannot become a $10B company.

If you are interested in MORN shares you must read their annual reports which will give you a better understanding of the reach the company has and will have if they execute on their strategy.

Why is their data or "expertise" useful in anyway? How are they providing any edge if some of the databases they maintain are replicated by several other sources out there. Furthermore how do you feel about those Wall Street Research contracts beginning to roll off? Do we have any clarity as to if their equity research division sells enough retail/institutional subscriptions to justify the overhead.
