The world’s leading software company, Microsoft is the force behind the Windows operating systems and the Office suite of software.
The giant is in a long, slow decline. It is huge and well-entrenched, so it will take a long time to fall and will use every tool at its disposal to hang on. However, their flagship products like Vista are failing and their monopoly, especially in Europe, is being challenged legally and also in the marketplace as alternatives are becoming more and more attractive and practical. I'm betting on Microsoft's decline in the long term.
