Let me get this straight -- the 5mg and 10mg formulations are approvable, but the 15mg is not because the FDA ran out of time? Heh. I'll take those odds.

As with Élan—one of our other biotechs—Neurocrine Biosciences (NBIX) have had their ups and downs. The stock was at an all-time high $70 14 months ago when the FDA somewhat surprizingly turned down their proposed anti-insomnia product, Ind...

Biotechs can be such fire-crackers! When I was a kid I used to light them and throw them in mid-air. Such fun!! Now and then, however, I miscalculated the timing of the throw and the thing blew up in my hand- YOWWSA, that smarts! The biotech inv...

This company has excellent upside potential and should be one of the better stock performers this year. Just accumulate shares, be patient, and watch this stock climb in price over the next several months.

CEO Lyons 2006 compensation was $600k base salary, $1.2M of free restricted stock, and $1.7M in stock options. He also negotiated a $1M severance package. For a biotech company with no product revenue, this is obscene.

On the good side, I like the...

Unjustifiably "spanked."

Getting hit by 50% based upon an FDA Approvable Letter is overdone.

Anyone who dabbles in this Biotech sector knows it's a process...much like with Dendreon, Medarex, Pozen etc.

Come back, baby! Come back to me. Baby needs a new pair of shoes. (Okay, so there was no thinking to this except for three analyst upgrades, and the fact that NBIX is near a 52-wk low). Wishful thinking, but it won't take much to stay ahead of th...

NBIX seems to look an awful lot like a crap shoot. It's really great when a product hits it big--but then there's the ugly thing called patent infringement, the highly unpredictable FDA, and, I could go on with the downside risks, but I don't think i...
