Netflix is already profitable and I think the groundwork has been laid for more profits ahead. The only real competitor left is downloaded video. Netflix may be able to do that too by the time it really becomes feasible.
Precisely. Plus they don't have all the "brick and mortar" baggage (2000 locations across Canada and US?) to maintain, which is a complete waste of money IMO, yet they are still convinced for some reason that everyone LOVES visiting their ugly stores and dealing with their disgruntled staff. No thanks Blockbuster!
Netflix management clearly have the brains to realize that video downloads are the way of the future and of course they will make some offering of the sort going forward.
They appear to have launched their video-on-demand service today. So.... what's left?
