Blockbuster won't eat into Netflix's subscriber base -- it will just bring more people into the DVD-by-mail concept which will benefit both. The Blockbuster add campaign will cause people who are curious about the concept to decide to try it and they will then investigate which they prefer: BBI or NFLX. By reputation, many of these folks will choose NFLX (if people were happy with Blockbuster and going to their stores, then NFLX wouldn't have a business case in the first place, so BBI's campaign is rather pointless).
