Netflix is the first-mover with a quality product and a sizable moat that no one seems to respect. The market is just starting to wake up to these facts today.

1) If tomorrow you were going to sign up for an internet streaming service, or direct-to-door DVD service, who can honestly say that they would choose a company other than Netflix? If tomorrow you were going to buy your first smart phone you would almost certainly give something other than an iPhone a try, illustrating Apple's shrinking moat with regards to phones; luckily for them, few today with the money to spent would buy anything but an iPad as their tablet, though that may soon chance.

2) Netflix has the best product. While it can be argued that in many ways Apple products are inferior for the cost relative to competitors, it's hard to argue with the ease of use of their devices. Netflix is as easy as watching Youtube and checking emails. In terms of catalog, until recently, no one rivaled Apple's app availability. That has changed for Android, but it's not even close for Windows phones. No one is in the universe of Netflix for content availability.

3) Room to grow. Netflix is expanding internationally. They will almost certainly add domestic subscribers. While another company could step in to fill the void that exists of many potential service subscribers, there is little evidence that Netflix is hesitating (as Microsoft did by not forging ahead in the tablet space and allowing Apple to do so instead). Their profit is down because they are moving into unoccupied space, at a rate far faster than their competition.

4) Speaking of competition, Dish just failed to renew AMC channels. People belly-ached when Netflix would not pay for Starz, as if anyone watches Starz. AMC has some of the most-watched cable shows around. Guess where people can still get those shows?
