Aging airframes across both Navy and Air Force are going to drive capital investments. High price of new technology and long lead time on development will likely drive an interim solution and NOC has that in stock today. DoD won't want to do it but the cost of war and rapidly expended fatigue life on the current aircraft won't give them much choice.
