Still (stubbornly and wrongly) shorting energy on a slowing economy. I shall take my losses when I see some decent growth coming. Until then, I want to be short spreads and energy margins generally. Services would seem in line for a haircut, should I ever get this one right, so despite NOV's gold-standard business, I want to be short their stock for a while.

When energy/drilling does turn, and it will, you will have a coiled spring of points to collect. Drilling is truly cyclical, and will turn down painfully, but I believe you are a little early. New rigs are coming online now and through 2008 which will increase the supply and drop the day rates. When this happens you will see a sheer drop. I predict July of 2008.

"I predict July of 2008" - Dude.... seriously nice call. Sheebus. Doesn't get much more accurate than that.

The man has his #9 ranking right now for a reason. I'm always early. I have become comfortable with that failing, but it sure is better to hit the nail on the head.Congrats, tdrh.

I am looking at what MF says about this company and since they can better look at the structure and business components (the inner financials and machinations), I think they have a winner. BUT, a very early winner. My research tells me that this very wonderful company could go to somewhere around $64 before the break out. I've been wrong before and may be wrong now. But I'm neither buying or selling yet.
