Nuance Communications provides speech and imaging products worldwide, in the areas of human voice interaction with information systems and devices; and imaging conversion from paper to electronics. The voice technology should lead to far more than the singing greeting cards we've been hearing about lately. In fact, the company announced in August, a converter that will allow users to change PDF files into speech -- a technology that is in direct competition Adobe and Microsoft.

A must-mention is Don Hunt, Nuance's new Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, whose 25-year background includes sales operations and executive leadership. He believes, "...Nuance is poised to be a driving force in a new wave of information technologies."

The balance sheet worries me a bit, with Total Current Debt at 355.04M, and Total Current Assets 242.49M.

But with a pricetag of $13.22 in May, and the current at $10, I think this stock represents a decent deal. I'm hoping that ongoing product development, consumer demand for products, and some sincere effort at debt control, will lead to solid growth in this company's future.
