Zelnorm recall will result in a flurry of class action suits (as palgued Vioxx). While most will be deemed without merit there will be a flood of litigants eager to latch on to some of the extra cash that Novartis has at hand.
Long-term Novartis has an excellent arsenal of drugs and developments to keep them strong in Pharma. Short term investors are likely to stay away while the recall and attending litigations create bad press. Good long-term buy expecially if the stock prices are seriously reduced by the negative reports.
